San Antonio is connected to four different ecological regions, thus making the area a great place to find an assortment of wildlife. This is one of the reasons that San Antonio decided to begin San Antonio’s annual Bird and Nature Festival.

Upon attending this event, people will discover wildlife in their natural habitats and learn about some of the historical features of San Antonio. Wildfest is San Antonio’s Annual Bird and Nature Festival. It is held every year in may for the general public. There are a variety of events held at the festival every year. Some of the events include bird watching, nature viewing, field trips, and workshops. This festival is very child welcoming. They offer various activities to get children involved in nature and the understanding of animal life. Nature lovers will enjoy the second annual Bird and Nature Festival of San Antonio, scheduled for May 1st through May 4th. This festival, also known as Wildfest, had a great turnout for its’ inaugural run in 2011, exceeding expectations for those in attendance. Designed to be a local showcase for the natural beauty and diverse wildlife habitats of San Antonio, Wildfest is planning even more events this year.
